5 thrifty tips to being romantic

Here are 5 thrifty tips to being romantic

You don’t need to spend money on flowers and chocolates and trips to Paris to be romantic. Spoiling your partner just takes time attention and a bit of effort.

thrifty romantic tips, roamntic on a budget, frugal and romantic

Why not….

1)    Rustle up an hour to two’s childcare and plan a walk and a picnic somewhere beautiful just for you and your partner. Send them a little handwritten invitation asking them to keep that lunch date free and reserved for a special date with you. If the English weather lets you down a little picnic in the lounge was some swing music playing will be equally lovely.

2)    Ask them to keep an evening free for you to indulge them. Once the kids are asleep make your partner their favourite tea, watch their favourite move and run them a candlelit bath playing their favourite CD as they bathe. Give them a massage and totally spoil them (no babysitter required!) Let the evening be all about them.

3)    Write them a love letter reminding them where and why you fell in love with then and write down some special memories you share. Write don’t email this so they can tuck the letter away and read it often.

4)    Ask their mum what they liked best as a kid; what comic they liked, what sweets what was their favourite tea, what cartoons did they like and try and put together a little ‘back to school’ package . Encourage them to tell you stories from their school days. Everyone enjoys a little step back to childhood and it is such a thoughtful gesture.

5)    Give them a gift that is straight from the heart.  It doesn’t have to cost anything. I wrote out the notes to our wedding dance for my husband and put it in a frame. He spelt out and intertwined our name in scrabble letters and we have that on display. What could you come up with?

Romancing someone is about showing that you love them, not that you have lots of cash so thought is everything.

Do you have any thrifty tips to being romantic to share ? I’d love to hear them.

Love,
