Of all the rooms in my home the one I feel most uninspired by has to be my bathroom. It is dingy and drab and every single thing in it, apart from the sink and the bath, have seen better days.

I want it to feel fresh, bright and clean and have a quiet elegance to it. I want it to be very hygienic and to look contemporary.

Instead it is looking grim.

Truly I have very quick baths so I don’t have to linger in there and that is a shame because I used to love long baths with good books and a glass of wine.  In a nutshell these are our ‘problem areas’…

          Toilet

2.       Basin and Bath taps

3.       Mirror Cabinet

4.       Bath Panel

5.       Shower Mixer and Curtain

6.       Flooring and Wall tiles

1.     Previously a replacement toilet on a very tight budget led to a bit of a bodged DIY job. Can you see from the pictures it sits on a raised piece of cork. What on earth!  So unhygienic particularly with small kids. Yuck.

2.

The sink is pretty recent as our old one cracked and was replaced last year. Despite this the taps make it look dated, the bath taps are just as bad.

3.

The mirror over the sink was a relic from my student days almost 20 years ago and it looks it, We needed some storage too.

4.    The plastic bath sides are caved in and cracked from the kids messing about and they just look dingy. Our tiles are old and rather sad looking – they really need replacing.

5.    The shower is part brass part chrome which looks rather off. And sadly it trickles rather than sprays. No one ever takes a shower because it’s a complete let down and you get chilly!!The shower curtain is dingy and the kids pull on it and the taps are dated and have seen better days.

The lino on the floor is split in places and does look very cheap as indeed it was!  The paint has not been refreshed in over 8 years (yes I am embarrassed) and oh my goodness this room is long overdue a makeover

This room is a disaster really and I don’t like it when guests use it and it does stop me inviting new friends around. I need to change that!

About 2 months ago my hubby was sat watching TV when he suddenly yelled come and look at this ad these are perfect for us. He had just been watching an ad for Victoria Plumb bathrooms. He thought they looked really classy and of good quality at really reasonable prices. Exactly the right kind of brand for us to work within our home makeover. a bathroom makeover from Victoria was exacttly what we needed.Plumb

I contacted Victoria Plumb and proposed we work together me showcasing their range and them supporting our bathroom makeover and to my delight they agreed. Victoria Plumb makes beautiful bathrooms and their furniture accessories are gorgeous. I am so happy to be working with them on this project.

I shall be working closely with a Victoria Plumb designer to come up with a plan for the room and to choose the right features and fittings from Victoria Plumb so it looks fabulous whilst still coming in at a good price.

The bathroom installation is being completed by Bathroom Connections who work closely with Victoria Plumb.

Next week I will show you our plan and the items we will be using. I cannot wait!

I can’t wait to see the final reveal! We desperately need a makeover too, there’s a huge hole in the floor where we removed the bidet which I couldn’t bear to look at, and the ceiling is still damaged from where rain water came through a cracked roof tile.
