Amazing Magazine

Amazing is a new educational fun magazine filled with brillaint article and facts for kids. It totally engages kids whilst teaching them fun stuff too. It comes out once a month and costs £39 for a years subscription

Green Fingers.

I love the kids to be outdoors and to take an interest in nature so a packet of seeds and a hanging basket to grow his own strawberries is a lovely fun gift. I’ll pop in some compost and a seed tray too and he’ll have a fab little project on his hands! He loves strawberries but you could actually probably pick just about anything they like that will spark an interest in them growing their  own. Check out the growing guide here. Strawberry seeds cost just £1.99

Smartphone Stand

Standeazy is a rather fabulous credit card sized stand for smartphones that keep them safe and within easy reach. It also enable you to watch, chat, listen, learn and share hands free. And it can sjut slide in your wallet. Just perfect for my tech loving son. Its a £4.99 bargain!

A new board game

Wing it looks great fun. It’s an ‘overland underhand bird watching challenge.’  You have to race around the British countryside trying to be the first to spot unusual birds and in the process hamper other plays ! My son is a member of the RSPB and will adore playing this with his bird loving grandparents.
The beautifully illustrated birds have been created by the RSPB’s own artist and the game has been devised with support form RSPB wardens, and uses real RSPB reserves. It costs £11.85

 The Sbyke

The coolest new thing I have seen this Christmas has to be the Sbyke.

The Sbyke is a cross between a scooter , a bike and a skateboard and I think it may w well be the next big thing. It’s gone down a storm in the US.What I love about it is that it is a fun and funky gets kids outdoors and helps them keep fit (and away from screens!) It does fabulous tricks and looks amazing. Have a  look at these videos to see the Sbyke in action. It costs £149.99 and one for younger children will be here soon too!

Last but by no means least I have to include this book

Horrible Histories

My kids have many horrible history books and seem to know noire about history than i do. This past weekend we went to see Horrible Histories Barmy Britain at the Theatre Royal in Nottingham it was outstanding. I learned so much. At just £3.10 I think the Horrible Histories annual is a must buy. To have  this much fun and learning packed into one book is worth every penny.

Last but not least album cards are a great thing to give a tween. They are probably just starting to get into music and a card that enables them to download an album will make them feel really grown up. How about Ed Sheeran or Sam Smith album cards…. both really cool right now? Cards can be personalised and there is a huge selection. A very easy gift to post too from just £9.99

Well I hope you have enjoyed checking out these ideas and I would love to hear what you are buying the tween in your life for Christmas?

That Sbyke is a bit wierd looking, although predictably my son loved it. He wants a bow & arrow and the latest Bear Grylls book.

I have never seen the Sbyke before- what a bonkers looking thing- looks fun tho! I have an 11 year old boy, and they are trickier – most toys just don’t cut it anymore- but he loves non-fiction reading, and any of the horrible histories and their science equivelant will go down well. LOVE the Minecraft box heads – hahaha!

I’m struggling a bit with my 9 year old – the sad fact is that he really just wants xbox games although he has written on his Christmas list that he doesn’t really need them so it’s OK if we don’t get them šŸ˜‰
