Home Makeover on a Budget: Comfy and Tidy

Key themes for my home makeover have got to be defined so I can keep focused and know what I am after. When I think of the overall scheme of the home makeover  I know that a comfortable and tidy home are big priorities for me.

At the moment my home isn’t tidy at all and its mainly a question of storage. Take my laundry basket (please take it – it won’t fit in the bin!) it’s a disaster!

Home makeover on a budget

The willow is split and sticks into you, bits trail around the floor as it continues to break. Clothes get pulled on it and it looks terrible. Just replace it I hear you cry  but I had only had it a few month!! It was about £12-£15 form a supermarket. Rubbish. My kids are heavy handed but seriously 2 months!  I also think the white looks wrong against the wood. I hate having to have our laundry basket on the landing but there really is no where else to put it.

Matalan swooped to the rescue and sent me this warm coloured willow laundry basket to review. It is strong, sturdy, has a good lining and looks far more robust. It also coordinates much better with its surroundings. It costs £25. It has bought order back to my landing!

Matalan also helped me out on the comfy stakes by sending me this gorgeous silver faux fur throw. It can be used on our bed or just kept in our lounge for when we want to snuggle up on the sofa (though my kids have also been using it to make a cosy den!)

Look how huge it is…

Matalan throw

It is gorgeous, so snuggly and super soft. The fur throw costs £15 and is machine washable. I think it looks rather luxurious too.

Two lovely items from Matalan homeware that have bought a little order and luxury to my home.

Sometmes just a little things makes a BIG difference in a makeover.

Items were sent from Matalnam for the purpose of review.
