My electric bill is one of my biggest bills and seems to rise steadily. Asmuch as I try and pile on the extra jumpers, hang out the washing and use the slow cooker still the electricity bills do not seem to go down. How lovely it would be to almost halve them.
SolarTech are renewable energy experts and have recently created this infographic which looks at the benefits of solar energy and how it is an affordable energy that can actually save you money.
An £800 potential saving a year from a £1600 electricity bill is rather a fantastic saving isn’t it? It would pay for a couple of months food shopping, or a holiday, or a nice chunk off the mortgage or it could be put away in an ISA or other savings account for future plans and projects.
You have to see the initial cost as an investment, not just a financial investment that will serve you well in the long run but also an investment in our land.
Obviously the benefits of having solar power are in savings but the potential to MAKE money by selling your energy are pretty impressive too and the other benefits just absolutely cannot be ignored.
I don’t know about you but we have had boiler problems many a time and they have cost us dearly. With solar energy there is little maintenance required. What a relief! It is also non polluting and a natural source of energy which just has to be better for our earth and the earth our children will inherit. So important we get this right for them isn’t it?
I personally would be very tempted to buy a house that had solar panels already installed, knowing it was going to significantly and consistently save me money on my bills. Investing in solar panels could certainly add value to your house and make it more attractive to potential buyers.
I love that panels can be installed in just a couple of days now and it is cheaper than ever to have the put in.
I am so tempted.
There are so many wins aren’t there!
