How to revamp your winter wardrobe on a budget

Today – revamp your winter wardrobe on a budget

Now winter is well and truly on its way it’s time to revamp your wardrobe. When you’re on a budget this can be really tough as all those layers can be expensive.
First things first, you’re going to need a winter coat. This is the one item that you should really be prepared to spend a little bit more money on as good quality fabric means it should last the season (and hopefully be in good condition for a few more!)

Revamp your winter wardrobe on a budget

There are so many options when it comes to coats, depending on your style and what’s currently on trend sometimes it can be hard to make a decision. Practically speaking the essential criteria’s to look for are: is it lined/padded for warmth? Is it big enough to get a jumper underneath? Is it waterproof and does it have a hood? A parka is usually a really good choice, especially when you’re trying to save the pennies, as they’re really practical, long lasting and keep you really warm – M and M Direct have lots of discount priced branded options.

If you’re looking for a thinner coat which not be as warm or perhaps without a hood, you’ll need to focus more on the layers underneath. A big cosy knitted jumper or a roll neck is a good choice- if you go for traditional winter colours such as burgundy, black or greys these can be worn time and time again. Plus, you can add lots of layers underneath so you could even recycle by wearing your summer vest tops or t-shirts under to build up the layers.

How to revamp your winter wardrobe on a budget with accessories

Hats, gloves are scarfs are great accessories for updating your look on a budget. They allow you to try out new trends such as chunky knits, pom poms or bright colours without having to spend too much money. You can get some good quality scarfs and gloves in lots of different styles and prints so you can continually change up your look.

Footwear in winter is almost as important as a coat. A good pair of boots are an essential investment. Knee high boots are an obvious choice as they keep you very warm and are traditionally always on trend in winter but ankle boots are a safer bet if you’re wanting to get the most out of a pair of boots. They keep your feet warm and go with a lot more outfits, you can wear them just as easy with a dress and tights as with a pair of jeans so they’re quite versatile. It’s also a bonus if you can manage to squeeze a thick pair of socks underneath them too!
