you have just spent lots of money on Christmas & you have just gained lots of new stuff in your lives?
Go on, I bet I’m right.
Well in my view that means it is time to take stock, declutter, start paying off the debts. It is not the time to go sales shopping accumulating more stuff and more debts. Just because their is 50% off something does not mean you want or need it does it?

Unless you have planned ahead to try and purchase a specific thing in the sales you are probably being swept into a frenzy by all the promotion. Dont get swept away, you aren’t getting a steal at all.
Stand firm. Relax, take stock , enjoy what you have and get your finances back in order.
Start the new year with poise and calm and a less cluttered consumer driven life.
Deep breath in then out.
Do yourself a favour and avoid the sales.
There are just so very many benefits to this.
You will be better off in so many ways..start the new year without consumerism and embrace a more minimlaistic in control you
It is all about the planning. I’m not in debt to Christmas. In the sales I’ve got stuff for next Christmas half price. Then with my savings ive treated myself to some half price shoes.
But yes the sales aren’t worth getting into debt for.
Planning is key I agree and shopping for next Christmas is a good idea but I tend to forget where I have put things. You need a very organised mind to buy that far in advance i think.

I have a list of things need/want for the house and the max price we’re willing to pay for those things. I watch sales and wait for them to come around. I’d rather pay $35 for new running shoes than $120 because I caught the End Of Season sale. I try to never pay full price for anything with the exception of produce, and even then I shop the farmer’s market first (local is best!).
Plus, buying out of season means having my holiday and birthday shopping done for a fraction of the cost a month before I need to mail anything.
Good point Liana I think if you have a plan then they can work for you but for many people its just more haphazard spending for the sake of it
