Have you ever used the LeapReader from LeapFrog?
I highly recommend it.
We used it when my daughter was in her early years of education and it really was an excellent tool to help her learn to read and write.
My daughter was really happy to read by herself with the support of the LeapReader system and loved doing activities throughout the books. The audio helped her with pronunciation and it was a great addition to home learning and the school programme she was following. The interactions made it seem like play to her and she thought it was great fun.
She also loved writing with the system and it helped her build her confidence around writing as she could practice with guidance again and again.
There are a huge variety of books in the read and write system and they are full of colour, games, learning, and so engage children. LeapReader is the complete learn-to-read-and-write system that combines three essential literacy skills: reading, writing and listening.
I read to my daughter and heard her read myself too and she absolutely loved all these ways of learning. I think what she liked most about the LeapReader system though was that she could go off and do it when she wanted to without having to rely on an adult to help her.
I have to say it must have helped she is now a competent , enthusiastic reader who loves nothing more than to get well stuck in to a good book.
To coincide with children beginning or going back to school LeapFrog has introduced a new series of videos about the LeapReader. In making them LeapFrog asked teachers about their experiences with LeapReader and how it can help. It is so interesting to hear what they have to say.
