Why we should do more on Fathers Day

Why we should do more on Fathers Day

I always feel Mother’s Day is a massive deal don’t you ? It seems to be talked about for weeks and weeks, kids make cards in school and crafts, shops are full of ideas for gifts and florist work overtime.
When it comes to Father’s Day it often seems very low key in comparison.

But dads are important and special too and they deserve celebrating.

My own dad was a fabulous man; handsome, strong, full of silly jokes, hugely generous, upbeat and fun to be around. He used to read Mr. Men books to us and always made us write thank you cards and remember our manners, he laughed so much.

My other half is also an amazing dad, he is considered, fun, interested and engaging, we would most definitely be lost without him. He jams with the kids on his guitar and he takes them swimming, plays Minecraft with them and gets them helping in the garden. He taught them to swim and read with them for many, many hours. He always encourages them.

So dads are pretty epic in my book!

For Father’s Day I have a number of ideas up my sleeve and I really want to make it special for my OH to show him how much we appreciate him. Most importantly for him we will let him have a lie in (his second most favourite thing.)

We like to think his first most favourite thing is US!

In Germany Fathers Day means groups of drunk men, pulling a handcart full with beer, wandering through the streets and chant hit songs.
