A VERY expensive week and how I coped

Oh, this week has nearly broken me and I ended up a big sobbing mess yesterday. It has been so busy. My kids starting school, my book being published – fabulous, emotional times and so I rushed, rushed, rushed and forget to eat properly, sleep enough and get enough fresh air and whoosh, I just crashed!

Then the unexpected bills came.

I had to move hosting – £400! I had to buy new templates – £160! The fence at the bottom of the garden needed repairing and the neighbour needed it done and had fencers in so we kind 0f had to agree – £125! 2 replacement tires – £170

Blimey.

I cried a bit more. I had just forked out on lots of uniform and quite a bit on marketing.

Okay, well some tough decisions, little and big, were required.

I am talking at a conference this weekend and wanted a new outfit.

Nope.

I was going to get my hair and nails done for the weekend.

Nope.

I was going to shop online at Tesco as usual.

Nope, I did a tight meal plan and went to Aldi.

I was going to take my kids to the circus ( hadn’t told them.)

Nope – ditched the idea and watched a funny DVD instead

Was going to turn down some low paid/dull work because I was so tired

Nope, did it anyway and was grateful.

Saving money and getting by is all about good decisions.

Next week will be better.

The Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve Done This Week Linky rules:

We’d love you to join in with us by sharing what frugal and thrifty things you’ve been up to this week – whether it’s an Instagram picture (#5frugalthings), a blog post or even a video. Just add your link to the linky at the bottom of this post.

You don’t have to share five things you’ve done, anything thrifty or frugal that you’ve been doing is perfect.

We’d like to make this a great little community linky so it would be brilliant if you could comment on a couple of the other blog posts linked up. We’ll make sure that we comment on all posts and if you have a Pinterest friendly image then we’ll Pin your post to one of our boards too.

How to say I can't afforfd that

You’re more than welcome to copy and paste the badge above but it would be even better if you could let your readers know that you’re linking up with us by adding a little line to the bottom of your post like this one:
