Brightening up your home on a budget

One of the very best ways to brighten up your home is to let in more light.

I am not suggesting you got the expense of repainting the house in light reflective paint or putting in  lots new floor to ceiling windows. Whilst these would of course be effective there are much cheaper ways to add light into your home.

You can replace heavy curtains with lighter ones, you can open windows, you can even clean your windows!

One of my favorite ways is to add wall mirrors Not only can mirrors reflect light and bounce it around the room they can also make the room look bigger and more airy.

Mirrors can also add a lovely design element to room and double as work of art.

I am big 1920’s fan and I love this art deco mirror

It is such an elegant mirror and would give a very classy vibe to a room I think as well as lots of light off the paneled edges.

This mosaic mirror is such a pretty mirror and would look lovely in a little girls room or maybe in a hall way. The mosaic tiles would reflect the light beautifully and really lighten and brighten a room.

Mirrors can make a huge difference to the atmosphere and light in a home and of course lets not forget their good for practical purposes too!

This is so true. I’ve just turned a full length mirror on its side and hung it in our hallway. It makes such a huge difference.
