Today – Frugal train travel and #5frugalthings
Here is how I have been saving money this week:
Frugal train travel
I am not a good traveller.
I get a bit claustrophobic when cooped up so usually if I travel I make it as easy as possible for myself.
I take Taxis in London rather than the tube and first-class travel if I just get it a little bit dearer. But times are changing and I am really mindful about my spending at the moment. This week I searched high and low to get a good travel deal. By altering my times of going and returning and by really doing a lot of research I got an amazing deal on a trip to visit my niece at uni and saved almost £30.
So yes, I was a bit cooped up, but I put a movie on my iPad to distract myself. Frugal train travel is do-able and I survived!
It was okay.
Frugal train travel is the way forward
Black Friday
I wrote last week about how to avoid Black Friday unless you were specifically shopping for something and I have managed to keep to this. I have been distracting myself with other things and stepping away from the computer because I know myself well and I know how easily swayed I am by a bargain.
The BEST Black Friday bargain ( I may be biased)
My book Create Your Own happy is on a Black Friday deal and just £6.11 today if you fancy stocking up for Christmas – it is packed for happiness boosting activities for kids aged 7-12 and is lots of fun. You can buy it here
University
I have been talking to my niece who is at uni and working out how much it is going to cost to send my son. OMG, I need to up my earning game asap. Forewarned is forearmed though and I do have a plan. Watch this space. At least I now know how to afford the frugal train travel!
Vegan
My daughter is having a go at being vegan. I bought quite a few bits and bobs for her that were vegan specific and I’ve spent way too much! I am going to have to learn to cook more vegan meals from scratch. If you have any good vegan blog recommendations pls send them my way
I hope you have enjoyed reading about my Frugal train travel. How has your thrifty week been?
