I am looking for a great holiday in 2013. It needs to be easy to get too, gorgeous and in line with our budget.
Location and accommodation need to be just right for both out budget and our needs but working out what we like can be a little tricky though. There is a huge choice out there hotels, cottages, caravans, cabins, cruises, teepees and villas, etc. Some friends of ours rented a camper van last year. I often don’t know where to start. I guess it is is useful to look at what we have enjoyed in the past.
For the last couple of years we have been to Center Parcs on out holidays which were awesome and right on our doorstep at Sherwood forest. We loved we could self cater and that we we out in the country side. These are key components of our holidaying. We are all vegetarian and prefer to cater for ourselves . This is often a good budget option too.
We also went to Butlins last year but I found we really got o top of each other int he tiny and very basic apartment, I guess we would probably feel like that in a camper van or a tent after a couple of nights too. Have to say i have been pursuing the Telegraphs guide to camping breaks though and their are lots of fabulous UK sites.
Much as I would love to take the kids to a sunny self catered villa in Greece or the Canary Islands the budget won’t stretch that far. We are going to save and try and go abroad next year all their friends have and they are desperate to get on a plane. But I didnt work hardly at all till they were at school and that’s the result I suppose. No big holidays abroad but we have explored the lovely UK. We live near Derbyshire too which is absolutely gorgeous so we have nothing to complain about.
Derbyshire-cottages.info have a great selection of luxury cottages online and the lack of travel costs would mean a little bit of luxury could be ours. Derbyshire is awesome for families . There are caves to explore and caverns such as Blue John and Speedwell. There are stately homes too and there are trails, there are big hills to climb and there and rivers to cross and streams. railways, walks, bike hire and so much more.

I think this would be an ideal holiday destination for us this year.
But you know it isn’t just a great place for families check out this great promotion that Derbyshire cottages are doing for couples Little cottages in dales surrounded by countryside are so romantic. Sigh. And it is coming up to Valentines (sort of!)
Anyone fancy babysitting for a few weeks?
The New Year always brings thoughts of a holiday in our house. I’ve been hunting around already and can’t believe the cost. Camping is a great solution I think!
