o next week I have to somehow negotiate half term on a budget during the lockdown.
I am vulnerable and Nottingham, where I live, is a high risk right now so as a family we have to be super careful.
Sigh.
Does not bear well for a fun half term for my teens.
So anyway I have been thinking of what we CAN do rather than what we can’t
Here are some ideas I have had so far. Please share yours with me too.
Board game cafe
A board game day – pretending we are at a board game cafe and getting them all out – we have some board games we haven’t played in years! I;ll aslo teach them a few new board games.
A French Day
I wanted to take my kids to Paris this year and it looks like it isn ot going o happen so I am going to bring Pairs to us. we will watch Emily in Paris and Rataroiuile and we will take this tour.
We will have pain au chocolat for breakfast and Frites, brie and a baguette for dinner. Through lunch, we will speak only french and we make macarons
A big walk under an Autmn Sky
We will go for a lovely walk at Wollaton Hall and see the deer and the lovely trees and take aflask of hot chocoate with us.
We will have a painting day
We don’t really want strangers in the house right now so I am goign to teach my kids to get their decorating hats on! and my plan is to do both kids befdrooms and a big delutter of each during half term with them FULLY involved ( we might even paint the bathroom too) this will save and ntertain at the same time!
We will make a birthday basket
My lovely aunty has b her birthday during half term and I was thinking it would be rather lovely if my teens and I had a day of baking and crafting to make her a birthday basket of surprises, perhaps candles and bath bombs, fudge, scones and a lovely leaf bowl and hand painted cards
It will most definitely keep them busy.
So they are my plans for a fab half term on a budget during lockdown. Do you have any plans up your sleeve?
