We all want to save time and money on home renovation.

If you have ever stepped into the world of home renovation you will know how very time consuming it can be.

Trying to find  the right builders and plumbers and electricians to meet your needs, then working around their availability to even just come and give you a quote can take so long!  And that’s before the work even starts. Then there is organising to be off work or available for when they can call round and the dilemma about whether to leave people working in your house when you are not there.

We haven’t even talked about money yet butthe reality is home renovations can cost a fortune!

Really the easiest way to solve this is to have a go at DIY.

Some jobs are much easier than others and even if you only take these on you will be richer in both time and money as a result.

The internet is your DIY ally – there are tonnes of online guides and videos on how to carry out building and decorating activities.

 

Painting

Painting can be done as and when you have time and its pretty simple if you have one colour, good rollers, a sturdy ladder and decent paint.

 

Skirting

Fitting skirting boards is a pretty straightforward job too. Building materials often run economy ranges on essential building materials like skirting board –and you can use cheap skirting board  to make your money go further

 

Sanding

Sanding is also a pretty standard job and it’s possible to rent the tools you need inexpensively.

 

A couple of good tips onow to save time and money on home renovation

  •  Investing in time saving tools like mitre saws & extra wide painting rollers are well worth it if you are attempting DIY – it will make life so much easier and tasks so much shorter.
  • Accurate measuring saves waste and avoids costly mistakes so do double check yourself!

Why not have  go at a few jobs yourself and see how they go.I think you will be pleasantly surprised and you will probably save both time and money in the process. You will also feel a huge sense of satisfaction at a new skill learned!

    Your post helpful! Thanks for sharing this. If a home renovation requires only basic skills then DIY is much preferred and budget wise. But if it covers major changes in a house, we should rely to someone who masters the job to prevent accident and cause more damages.
