Money-saving flooring hacks
Are you looking for money-saving flooring hacks – well, if you are you have come to the right place!
Every good budgeter knows there is always a way to save money but still get what you want. I love floors. I can honestly say that floors, nice floors, absolutely make me smile. I like to see beautiful wood, gorgeous tiles and sumptuous carpets. I like to see shiny clean floors and floors in immaculate condition.
I know good flooring can be costly but it really does not have to be. there are always money-saving hacks to be had if only we know where to look.
Laminate flooring
Real or engineered wood flooring has been in vogue for quite a while now but there are so many benefits to laminate flooring that make it such a better option for budgeters.
1. Laminate flooring can be easy to lay and this can save you money on installation.
2. It comes in a huge variety of colours and styles these days and you will definitely find something to suit your decor.
3. Laminate flooring is made from pressed wood, because of this it is more durable and resists scratches, general wear and tear. It also avoids being affected by moisture to the degree that real wood is. This makes it a cost-effective and long-lasting option. A good flooring investment.
4. Laminate is often cheaper than real wood/engineered wood so you get good initial savings too.
Avoiding Carpets
Carpets get worn, they get stained, they get frayed and they get ripped. They can also get smelly and lumpy and can easily become discoloured and faded. Carpets can date and are often expensive and awkward to replace. Have I put you off yet? Personally, I don’t think carpets are a great option for a family on a budget.
Cleaning solution
Expensive mops and carpet cleaners, steam cleaners and luxurious products really are unnecessary. You just need the basics to give your floors a great scent and a good scrub. Now vinegar is said to be a great disinfectant but oh I just hate the smell and no matter how cheap it is I just absolutely cannot bring myself to use it. So what to use instead?
This is what I do and it works beautifully:
Simply fill your bucket with warm water and a couple of big squirts of cheap, lemon scented washing up liquid. It is absolutely all you need.
I would get a decent mop one you can clean pretty easily and that it!
I hope these money-saving flooring hacks prove useful to you!
