Puzzle club magazine is aimed at Key Stage 2 children and is a 64-page compendium of different puzzles, from crosswords to wordmazes and sudoku puzzles.I think it is excellent value for money and it has been a big hit in our house.
The variety really keeps kids attentions and my two have dipped in and out of their copies for a couple of weeks now.
It is perfect for long car journeys and rainy days and just brilliant to help their learning (without it seeming like learning.)
My kids often get gifted magazine subscriptions at Christmas and much as thy love them they tend to get read really quickly and end up in the recycling bin (except the Beano ..we have 100’s of them!) What I loved about Puzzle Club was that it lasted a long time and they really got their worth out of it.
Puzzles are brilliant for children’s development . A recent study by the University of Cambridge showed that
- Puzzles motivate and engage students
- Crosswords improve verbal fluency
- Word games are more effective than traditional teaching alone, when learning vocabulary
and most importantly they are fun!
The magazine is available to buy in WHSmiths, as well as all large supermarkets and good newsagents. Puzzle Club is also available by subscription
