Today – The #NationsWarmestAppreciation competition
Lockdown has been chock full of heroes, regular people who have helped their community as a whole or as individuals get through. Some as part of their job, some voluntarily, all with a heart open and willing, I could name so many lockdown heroes and I do believe every one of them should be celebrated
My daughter Lise (aged 13) has been pondering her lockdown heroes as part of her entry into the #NationsWarmestAppreciation competition. She has chosen our postie, Liz.
and she wrote a little acrostic Postie Poem to explain why.
The #NationsWarmestAppreciation competition
Posting letter and packages through our door every day whilst we’ve been shielding
Often working in the wind and rain, but delivering all the same
She is always friendly, always warm
Takes the time to share a word
Is a burst of sunshine in our lockdown days
Lise chose Liz because she has kept us in touch with the outside world whilst we have been isolated and has done it with a bright and beaming smile.
Thankyou lovely Liz.
Does your child have an unsung hero they would like to nominate?

This competition is open to children aged 5-14.
All they need to do to enter is to nominate someone they feel has gone above and beyond to help themselves or others during this time with a creative piece and a description of why.
This can be a drawing, picture, a story, poem or any other creative project depicting who they are choosing and why they are choosing this person for a chance of winning a prize worth up to £300.
