You have probably been wondering what is reverse advent?

In our house traditionally advent has been a time of excitement  – a build up to Christmas and the opening of a little window and a gift each day for the children.

Well Reverse Advent turns the getting on its head and makes it all about giving – which really is much more in the Christmas spirit!

Winter and Christmas are especially hard on people who are homeless and who live with poverty.  In December food banks get 45% more referrals from CABs, Job Centres, GPS and Social Services during the two weeks before Christmas. More than 90% of the food Trussell Trust distributes comes from donations from the public.

 

 

What is Reverse Advent?

My family are joining the UK Money Bloggers #FoodbankAdvent campaign this festive season to encourage donations to food banks through creating a Reverse Advent.

Here’s my daughter to tell you what Reverse Advent is….

The food banks want a variety of items. You can check with your local foodbank to see what supplies they are currently in need of and pop pver to the Trussell Trust to find ourt more about the amazing work they do and ways to donate .
