I use lavender essential oil – sometimes a few drops on a cloth or tissue under the pillow and sometimes in an oil burner as I read in bed. I’ve also got ‘sleep stones’ that I add a few drops of lavender to and shake every couple of days. A good book is the final part of my get-to-sleep recipe

I generally try hard to get everything done…that way I dont have anything to keep me awake with worry once in bed! lol ( I do often cheat and simply add outstanding jobs to the following day’s list!)
This way, once I finally hit my bed, I am usually so tired I simply fall asleep!

Reading helps me clear my head before I turn off the lights, but stroking my cat, and listening to her purr contentedly beside me, helps me drop off to sleep. Not only does she help me get to sleep, she also helps me get up, by sitting on the pillow and meowing in my ear if I don’t leap out of bed and get her breakfast the second the alarm goes off!
