Do you want to write for a living?

Do you want to write for a living ?

When you think about your dreams can you pin point them down to…

1) where you would like to live?

2) who with?

3) what you would like to be doing?

It helps to have concrete plans or we tend to drift just hoping for better. I always knew I wanted to write fo a living and now I do. I write books, I blog, though for years I got very off track. I copywrite and review. Chance, persistance and a good plan have all stood me in good stead. I make a passable income and I LOVE what I do.

Let me recommend 2 brilliant and FREE resources to help you put your writing plan in action

1.

writers and artists book

The bestselling guide to markets in all areas of the media is the writers and artists yearbook  Free from the library so do put your order in and have a really good browse.

2.

The other direction I am going to suggest is  http://www.blogger.com/  you can make yourself a free blog in a matter of a few minutes athen tyou can practice writing to an audience to your hearts content.

Don’t just dream – if you want something go for it! Invest your time in you. Money is not required to live out a writing drem.

Good luck

Love this post Becky. It’s nice to see the dreams pinned down to three simple things, which I think it comes down to those 3 for a lot of us. I agree, the Yearbook is a must, and Blogger changed my life. I was writing a book, The Real Life of a Narrowboat Wife, when my friend said, “you should start a blog called that!” Embarrased, I almost replied with self-depreciating comments about who would read it? but then I thought, ‘You’ve got to be in it to win it!’ I joined BritMums network, met loads of blogging mums, and am now blogging for boating businesses!

I’ve always enjoyed the writing aspect of jobs I’ve done and when studying in the past and now I’m really enjoying doing it in my business in blogging and writing content for courses and workshops but somehow, I don’t know why, I felt kinda shy about saying how much I REALLY LOVE it. So thank you Becky I feel inspired to do more – and to do some just for fun.
