Thinking about planning a funeral

Thinking about planning a funeral?

I know it is a subject that most of us really do not like to think about, but it comes to us all in the end.

The end of life is a subject that really does need thinking about.

When it comes to planning for a funeral there are certain things you really do need to have in place:

Over 50s life insurance specialist, British Seniors, recently conducted a new study and found that over 50s Brits, on average, feel 10 years younger than their actual age.

With those in retirement feeling youthful, it is no wonder that looking at arranging a funeral and all you need to consider both before and on the day is not something the average person thinks about doing. It is an incredibly helpful thing to do though because there can be much confusion amidst grief, and a clear plan that takes you through each step is really useful, with everything from transport to pall bearers, flowers and music needing to be considered.

Planning your own funeral is something I would definitely want to do, choosing my own songs and how it is done. I know, for example, I would want a cremation and not a burial, that I would want flowers from everyone, and that I would want to go out to Sunshine on my Shoulder by John Denver. If you want it done your way it is important to have a plan in place, a means of other people knowing your wishes.

One also needs to look at planning for funeral costs. Over 50 life insurance plans that pay a lump sum payment in the event of your death are a useful consideration when planning ahead for your funeral. Many people want to know they are covering the costs of their own funeral rather than leaving loved ones to find the money in their time of grief.

So there is much to consider when it comes to funerals. Having some plans in place can be a real benefit.
