A fun and free day out at The O2
If you are looking for a fun and free day out this summer I can highly recommend The O2.
I was invited to travel there with my kids to see what they had to offer.
We caught the train to London then travelled from London Bridge to The O2 by MBNA Thames Clipper.
What a fun way to travel.
It took about half an hour from London bridge and it was such a lovely way to see London and a cool and refreshing way to travel after a couple of hours on the train. We got off at North Greenwich and were just 2 minutes from The O2.
Perfect.
Our first activity was a visit to Sky Studios.
This season it the studio is dedicated to sport and it is totally free to visit. It is full of interactive exhibits and my kids played both football and golf for free.
They saw Chris Froome and Sir Bradley Wiggins’ time trial bikes andtested their bike speeds on the Team Sky Time Trial bikes.
My daughter even walked out as a star footballer on the Sky Sports Monday Night Football set (she’s the diddy one)
The kids also got to read Sky news which was great fun. They took lots and lots of photos of themselves with stars courtesy of the green screen.
The staff were brilliant, had loads of time for the kids and made it a really fun experience.
I love that this is free and what a great way for kids to see behind the scenes of a TV studio.
I also love that all the videos and photos they made were free to download later on when you got home, providing wonderful memories of the experience.
We had a quick lunch break for Pizza at ASK which was absolutely scrumptious.
I could not believe the diversity of eateries at The O2 – something for every taste.
Next we trialled The O2′ Nissan Innovation Station. An amazing way to see what’s new in the way of technology and again a fully immersive experience.
And also totally free!
The Nissan Innovation Station had some fabulous experiences. I test drove an electric car (virtually) and my son had a go at a wheelchair sprint which he found exhausting!
Both kids drove Nissan’s on the playstation, we went inside a gold Nissan car, we bought our car colourings to life and we designed our own cars! There was just so much to do and again lots of great, enthusiastic staff on hand.
After all that we needed a rest and so we headed to The O2’s very own Cineworld. We watched the utterly lovely Finding Dory.
Then it was just a quick hop on the boat and train ride home.
What a fabulously fun day out at The O2 which really does have so much to offer during these summer holidays!
We would highly recommend it.
