- This cavern used to be the home of the western big-eared bat. But now, only female bats live here to give birth to their offspring. Springtails are also there in the caverns.
The Berkeley Pit, Butte
- Butte city in Montana was earlier a mining town. Now it has turned into a tourist attraction because of the Berkeley Pit.
- Berkeley Pitt was earlier a copper mining site that later got filled with acidic water after the abandonment of the mine.
- The high toxic levels are due to heavy metals, and numerous new species of fungi and bacteria survive in this pit.
