I have a holiday coming up in June in Portugal and I am so excited about it! I do need a few new pieces to take with me, perhaps a new dress and some light trousers?
I have been on the lookout.
I don’t mind a nod to the seasons fashion trends but I also like t spend my money on things that I will enjoy wearing long afters the fashion seasons change and the trends have come and gone. I looked at the trends for 2015 and have identified gingham, fringe floral and monochrome as key looks.
I think that I would look a bit silly in fringe and not sure I am slim enough for gingham so monochrome and floral it is!
According to Elle magazine monochrome was a big hit at the Oscars recently so I am in good company.
I love the white dress from Heine pictured above. It is a classic and flattering shape and white just works perfectly with a tan. I would pair this with black accessories to achieve the monchrome look. This black hat would be rather fabulous too.
I think achieving on trend looks via accessories rather than outfits is a thrifty fashion essential! And of course I will have to have a pair of black sunnies …. if you buy a classic shape like these they will never go out of fashion.
In regard to floral, Vogue say it is most definitely the trend to be seen in this Spring/Summer. You can’t really go wrong with a floral print..they have pretty much always been a summer fashion staple. Am totally not sure about mixing two different flower patterns on top and bottom though are you?
I’m definitely and either or when it comes to floral!! Not both.
Teamed with a plain, classic top or trousers I think floral is a trend you will get a lot of wear out of.
