Today – The Shomo awards 2019 rocked.
Last weekend I headed off to London with my good pal Cass from Frugal Family. We were headed to the SHOMOS – the UK money blogger conference and awards. These awards are organized over by Andy Webb who runs the UK money bloggers community and blogs over at Be Clever with Your Cash an awesome blog for money-savvy readers
We had the best couple of days.
The Shomo awards 2019
On the Friday we filled up with (free) street art, good company and tasty Italian food. You can read a little more about that on my Thrifty Week post
The UK money bloggers conference
On Saturday we headed over to the conference. It was buzzing from the start and we had a project to launch to our fellow money bloggers. Cas and I have created a box of conversation prompts to get families talking about money You can find the let’s talk about money cards we created here if you want to take a peek. Ever supportive we had the most lovely feedback from our colleagues.
The conference began with talks around pensions and retiring, time management, great new apps. There were talks on sponsored work, monetising your blog, advertising networks. There was also a money fair where brands like Experian, Yolt and Pension Bee (the event sponsors) shared how they like to work with bloggers.
Most importantly there were new money blogger friendships and alliances made and old ones renewed. There was a lovely lunch, bubbles, pizza and brownies too.
What a smashing day.
