Now die hard fashion victims will hit the shops with their well earned moula/ credit cards and buy something under each heading. I think this only serves to lose a sense of individual style (as well as a lot of cash.)
To shop for the season thriftily ( we have already discussed this in relation to colour) I would begin by being picky.
Which of the above 10 items make you go ‘ooh no way’ or ‘ooh yes’ of the autumn/winter fashion trends?’
Personally I love tartan, pink and pale sixties pieces. I can’t wear off the shoulder (its a bra thing) and cannot stand blue camouflage (or any camouflage) patent coats are a bit ‘not me’ too. I like low heels but mini bags and me just aren’t practical.
Now armed with a much smaller list of things to purchase that you actually like you can hit eBay and the second hand shops (and even the supermarkets t0 to see if you can find what you like.
Do remember trends speed by though and sometimes an accessory e.g a pink scarf may be all that is needed to update your look without losing your sense of style or spending a fortune.
Over at New Look this tartan skinny belt costs just £1.
Thrifty fashion indeed!
with skinny shoulder, I’m always off the shoulder – hey! I’m now on trend
Fabulous no shopping required! That’s as thrifty as you can get!
