A day out at Go Ape

On Monday I tool my 10 year old daughter and her friend out on their school inset day to Go Ape.

Have you heard of Go Ape?

Go Ape

Go Ape can be found in 31 of the UK’s most spectacular parks and forests. From Segways to Nets Kingdom, Zip Trekking adventures to Tree Top adventures…lots to do in beautiful settings for adventure lovers of all ages.
We were so pleased to be offered the opportunity to review it.

We went to Sherwood Pines in Notts one of the most beautiful forests I have ever had the pleasure to visit. The girls attempted Treetop Junior which is basically a junior high ropes course.

It’s a fun filled hour of canopy exploring, trail blazing and obstacles for all to enjoy. You’ll negotiate crossings and finish on a high (literally) with one awesome zip wire.

The course is aimed primarily at 6 – 12 years old ( but do check height and weight restrictions before you go and parents can go on with their kids.)

Go Ape Tree Top Junior adventure can take up to 1 hour to complete and that includes the safety briefing. I have to say I listened in carefully and the safety briefing was very clear. The instructor was kind and jolly and made sure the kids were listening and understood. In fact all the instructors (and there were plenty of them) were friendly and supportive and this was reassuring to anxious parents like me.

The course was amazing, there were intricate ropes and steps between the trees and platforms in between each new obstacle. The zip wire looked the best fun and the girls really embraced and enjoyed the challenge, it was lovely to see them encouraging and guiding each other and pushing themselves to be brave. Activities like this are just so character building.
A Go Ape session on the junior tree tops costs from £18 and is great value for money. After the challenge we had a picnic in the forest and the girls played on the park. They thought their day out was magic and would absolutely love to do it again!
We would highly recommend this.
