Lovely leggings

They’re perhaps one of the most overlooked items in the wardrobe – or more likely stuffed into the bottom of your bedroom drawers – but leggings are also one of the most versatile and comfy pieces you can own. You can dress them up for a night out or just wear them to cosy up in front of the television on Sunday nights. Here are my 5 favourite leggings for this season:

 

 

Lovely leggings

Classic navy

While leather leggings have been pretty much everywhere in black over autumn and winter, I love this pair from Drome at Matches. They’re in navy, so have a slighty softer look, but they still give off an unmistakeable rock chick vibe. I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for a high street version.

Art attack

On the spring/summer 2014 catwalks, clothes and accessories often looked more like works of art than something you’d wear. Celine opted for graffiti-esque squiggles while Prada commissioned artists to create giant murals. This pair from Pink Queen give a tongue-in-cheek way to wear the trend.

Floral print

Florals are always on trend but the floral pair of leggings from La Redoute almost look like a pair of lace tights, another key trend for winter and spring. I’m going to be wearing them with a chunky knit and a pair of biker boots.

Animal print

Animal print – whether it’s leopard or snake – is one of those trends which transcends seasons. This pair, from Wolford are both cosy and sexy, and there aren’t many items of clothing you can say that about. I’d wear them with a slouchy top in black or grey and a pair of ankle boots for the weekend.

Sequinned

For a night out, sequins give instant glamour and these silver leggings are a great way to add another of spring’s trends, metallics, to your wardrobe. I’m going to wear with a spaghetti-strap camisole top for an up-to-date 1990’s look.
