Easy vegan scones

easy dairy free scones recipe

I just had to share my easy vegan scones recipe (s-gone) I  love their warm home-baked, grandma infused smell and the way the butter and jam just ooze if you spread them when the scones are warm. Gorgeous, delightful and smell of home.

Here is how I bake them – simple, easy and speedy quick and they simply go down a treat.

Do scones have egg in them?

They can do but our recipe certainly doesn’t don’t worry!

What are vegan scones?

Vegan scones are the same scones you may know and love from you pre-vegan days but totally dairy free.

Where to buy vegan scones?

Truth be told they are not easy to get hold of but you don’t need to buy them you can absolutely  make them. They are quick and easy and always taste better home bough.

Vegan Scones with Raspberries

And serve up some fruit with your vegan scones so they aren’t too dry. Raspberries and strawberries are the perfect combination in my opinion.

Why the British love scones

When it comes to traditional British treats, one cannot overlook the iconic scone. These small, round pastries have captured the hearts and palates of the British people for centuries. But what is it about scones that make them so beloved?

1. Rich Culinary Heritage:
Scones have deep roots in British culinary history, dating back to at least the early 16th century. Over time, they have become an integral part of traditional afternoon tea gatherings and breakfasts across the nation. This longstanding association with heritage and tradition has helped solidify their place in British culture.

2. Versatility at Its Finest:
One reason why scones enjoy such widespread popularity is their versatility. Depending on personal preference or regional influences, these baked goodies can take on various flavours and textures. Traditional plain or fruit scones are common choices, but variations like cheese or herb-infused versions are equally adored. This adaptability allows everyone to find a favourite type of scone suited to their taste buds. And sit is so fantastic we can make them vegan!

3. The Perfect Tea Companion:
A quintessential element of afternoon tea service in Britain is a warm plate of freshly baked scones paired with clotted cream and jam – a combination known as “cream tea.” The soft yet slightly crumbly texture of a well-made scone provides an ideal canvas for spreading rich cream and fruity preserves. It’s no wonder that enjoying a vegabn cream tea absolutley means you have to include vegan scones.
