Technology in particular is often far cheaper to buy in the sales than in the run up to Christmas but how do you bear their disappointed little faces?

Well I  have found this fabulous idea over at MSE called the  IOU generator. Basically you fill in the details of who the gift is to and when you will deliver it by and it explains that because things are cheaper in the sales this bigger and better gift will be coming then. Then it generates an attractive IOU for you to give in place of a gift.

What a top idea!
