Boredom Games for kids (and all of you!)
Some of these activities can be done by kids on their own and some definitely require you to join in, I’ve tried to offer you a balance of physical and creative boredom games. I do hope you enjoy these boredom games for kids. You might also like to take a look at my post on 50 fun things to do when stuck indoors with kids if you find yourself at a loss on a rainy day.
Make a den
Perhaps you could make a sofa den? It easy to do if your sofa has big cushions and if it doesn’t – underneath the kitchen table makes a great den space. Fairy lights, cushions, a pile of books a torch and some snacks and your kids will be happy for ages.
Make your own bubbles
Even teens still love to do this and it really could not be simpler.
Mix equal amounts of liquid dishwashing liquid with water. If it’s available, add in several drops of glycerine. take a look here for lots of ideas to make blowers or raid the recycling bin and let your imagination run wild.
Make scones and host a tea party
This easy vegan scone recipe really could not be easier and your child will have great fun setting up and hosting a tea party ( I think you will enjoy it too!) They could even make invitations and decorations.
Go Viral! with your boredom Games for kids
Okay, you may not want to put it on youtube but try your hand at picking a pop sing you ll love and creating a dance routine. Practice makes perfect and it keeps you fit. Perhaps you could perform it on Zoom to your extended family? This might help…
Try some yoga
Another lovely physical thing to do with the family is trying some yoga ( a lot more relaxing than a dance routine!) A great way to instil mindfulness in kids too For excellent instructional videos, check out Cosmic Kids Yoga on Youtube (options include Frozen, Harry Potter and Trolls yoga, and many guided relaxations).
