Do you believe in Karma?
Do you even know what it is?
The dictionary defines Karma as ‘good or bad luck, viewed as resulting from one’s actions.’
I am not sure personally if I think it exists.
I waver depending on how life is treating me!
I like to think with hard work we create our career opportunities. I believe that with kindness we encourage good friendships. I like to think positivity is contagious and attractive which is why it creates supportive and nurturing environments, For me it’s largely about energy flow – is that the same thing?
I am very aware of Karma though. I know someone who is pretty unkind and arrogant and repeatedly negative things happen in her life, random and seemingly unrelated things.
What do you think?
The Karma Caluclator
TrustTwo has created a quiz called the Karma Calculator.
It is a light-hearted tool that encourages people to think outside of themselves but also to understand the concept of karma.
Basically you answer a series of questions, such as the one below that really encourage you to think about your behaviour.
The quiz describes lots of scenarios where you have the potential to do good; some, all or none of the time. It really makes you think about who you are and how you act,
I am proud to say I did really well on this quiz!
It was firmly instilled in me when I was a child to have strong moral code.
I do have a blessed life in many ways – could this be because of Karma?
Or could this be because largely you get what you give in life?
Circumstantially I have had rotten luck in life with health and bereavement and so on. I have coped with all of this rotten luck with grace and strength largely because I have great friends, positivity and a job I live. So in essence the stuff I can control and have created has been wonderful but the other stuff that I cannot control has been powerfully challenging. If Karma really was at work wouldn’t the stuff I couldn’t control be fabulous too?
I am confused by Karma but just on the off chance that it really does exist I would urge everyone to play nice and do all the good they can wheneverthey can! If nothing else it will definitely win you friends and enable you to look yourself in the mirror at night with a big smile.
Why don’t you have a go at the Karma calculator, it does make you ponder who you are and how you behave and it is very enlightening.
See you soon – I am off to share loveliness and see what happens!
Problems or successes, they all are the results of our own actions. Karma. The philosophy of action is that no one else is the giver of peace or happiness. One’s own karma, one’s own actions are responsible to come to bring either happiness or success or whatever. – Maharishi Mahesh
