Hello, hello hope your week has been good – has it been a week of thrifty?
I have been tired all week! Not at all sure what that is about but oh, it’s easy to take a lot of money shortcuts when you are tired isn’t it. I have had to make some real efforts to be thrifty!
A week of thrifty
Here is how I’ve saved this week:
Leftover Love
I used up all my spare bits of veggies this week making a scrumptious and easy slimming world quiche it’s a great recipe even if you aren’t slimming and such a good way to avoid food waste! Upi migjt also like my recipe for a simple chickpea stew
Slimming club
I cannot afford or spare the time for slimming club at the moment BUT I do have several stones to lose. I am 6lb down in the last 2 weeks. I have done this by accounting to friends each Saturday! Walking 4 times a week and following the slimming world plan by careful meal planning! I can do this myself!
Gumtree
Having had a big old clearout we have started selling on Gumtree. I have written a post about my Gumtree challenge here and this morning I just made my first sale! Woo-hoo £40 in the pocket and some very old toys gone!
Saving money on your energy
I have been really trying to avoid putting the heating on and I have all sorts of tricks up my sleeve including making a flask of tea so I don’t have to keep reboiling the kettle. Come and read all my frugal tips for your energy and whilst you are over there you could win an Echo Dot!
Shopping delay
I normally do an online shop once a week but I am in need of some extra cash right now so I eeked it out one more day. The kids had a slightly bizarre packed lunch and it was baked potatoes for tea but I managed one more day without shopping. Those small wins all add up!
Beauty
I have to tell you I have also been trialling some beauty products by Odylique this week a beautiful natural organic skincare range. I love quality skin care products and when they are really good I think they can be worth every penny. I am in love with their superfruit concentrates face oil and at £25 I think it is great value. This product will last an age and is much better value than other luxury face oils I’ve tried. Go take a peek!
Oh and as an extra aside I wrapped my kids books in wallpaper instead of buing sticky paper for a cheap win! Check out my Alice in Wonderland wallpaper post for a speedy tutorial on this
The Fabulously Frugal Things I’ve Done This Week Linky rules:
We’d love you to join in with us by sharing what frugal and thrifty things you’ve been up to this week – whether it’s an Instagram picture (#5frugalthings), a blog post or even a video. Just add your link to the linky at the bottom of this post.
You don’t have to share five things you’ve done, anything thrifty or frugal that you’ve been doing is perfect.
We’d like to make this a great little community linky so it would be brilliant if you could comment on a couple of the other blog posts linked up. We’ll make sure that we comment on all posts and if you have a Pinterest friendly image then we’ll Pin your post to one of our boards too.
Please let your readers know that you’re linking up with us by adding a little line to the bottom of your post like this one: I’m linking up with Cass Emma and Becky in this week’s Five Fabulously Frugal things I’ve done this week linky. Has your been a week of thrifty?
I need to get rid of some old toys (kids are 22) I just need to get organised and sell them. I’d like to make some money too!
